Coron is a municipality of Palawan located in the southeastern part of the Busuanga Island. It is in the center of the Calamianes Group of Islands. It is endowed with several islands and islets. About 1,000 of the 1,700 islands of the province are located in Northern Palawan, of which about 65% are located in the Calamianes Group of Islands.

The islands are largely undeveloped but offer tremendous possibilities for tourism. Most of the islands can be reached within one hour by pump boat from Coron town. The islands vary in size from less than a hectare to hundreds of hectares. Many islands have a strip of white beach that make them attractive to tourists.
